So this is a young pretty girl I did some work on….she is also a model and has therefore her own “before and after” pics…see any changes? The tattoos were photoshopped away, but the other changes are real!
A lot of women who are considering breast augmentation are surprised to learn that the implants come with a warranty. It varies slightly by manufacturer and between silicone and saline, but in general the implant itself is covered for life, and if there is a problem within the first ten years, the warranty will kick in money to help offset the cost of any necessary surgery! This is certainly a helpful program!
It occurs to me that we get patients from not just San Antonio but from all over South Texas. I see a surprising number of patients from Laredo and Corpus Christi for all sorts of plastic surgery procedures. We also even see people from McAllen and Brownsville! If I really think about it I know we see people from Eagle Pass, Rockport, Falfurrias, Harlingen…It is an honor to serve South Texas!
You might imagine that I get a lot of business through the Internet. And with a relatively unusual name like “Decherd” there are not too many other Decherds out there.
However, one “competitor” that comes up if you search “Doctor Decherd” is a racehorse. Well, there’s a story there. My father, Jonathan F. Decherd, MD is a retired nephrologist. He helped a friend with a medical problem. This friend was a horse person, and he bought racehorses. One he bought he then named “Doctor Decherd” as a way to say thank you to dad. Well, the horse went on to great things! He almost got in the Kentucky Derby.
So when you search “Doctor Decherd” and see a bunch of horse stuff, there is a connection–from horse racing to plastic surgery!
At times women are reluctant to pursue a tummy tuck because of the necessity for a long scar. However, when women HAVE a scar, especially a bad one, they may be able to get rid of it.
Most hysterectomy or C-section scars are low and horizontal. But some are vertical, and they may contract and give the lower abdomen an odd shape.
In the following patient, the preop scar is almost making her abdomen hang into two separate pieces. Although she gets a low horizontal scar and a belly-button scar after surgery, the underwear hides the former nicely and the belly button is nard to see. She was VERY happy to lose the old vertical scar!
Well I have been delinquent about blogging because I have been working on a new website….which will go live soon!
I just had a email from a patient who had a tummy tuck in 2006…she has gone on to lose 50 pounds! She is no longer in Texas or I would make her come in and get some pictures! Below are some of her words…
“Well, it just goes to show how proud I continue to be of my flat tummy! I attached two pics I took with my cell phone. I will try to get some better ones, maybe my kids and help with that! As you will see, I have extensive stretch marks from weight gain/loss and from having twins! My next procedures will be some implants and a thigh lift and I will be done! My only regret is that I am no longer in San Antonio or I would use Dr. Decherd in a heartbeat!
I still have about 15 pounds to lose but am feeling great and even wearing a bikini now! My tummy tuck ranks up there with one of the best things I ever did for myself!”
In her second pic you can see the scar has faded nicely!
